Bhanoti Peak, towering at 5,645 meters, is a stunning summit nestled in the high Himalayas of the Sunderdhunga Valley, Bageshwar, Uttarakhand. The expedition begins at Dau village, located just a kilometer before the village of the same name. From here, the trail winds through Ridang to Jaitoli, the last inhabited village along the route. The journey is a captivating mix of lush forests, alpine meadows, and rugged terrain, offering a perfect challenge for seasoned trekkers transitioning into mountaineering. With a moderate altitude and a rewarding climb, Bhanoti Peak serves as an ideal first summit for those looking to dive into the world of Himalayan expeditions. The best time to tackle this peak is from mid-May to early June or mid-September to October, when the weather is most favorable for a successful ascent.

Bhanoti Peak is a high-altitude, physically demanding expedition that includes steep ascents, rocky terrain, and potential snow conditions. To ensure a safe and successful summit, you’ll need solid endurance, leg strength, and cardiovascular fitness. Start your preparation 8-10 weeks ahead for optimal results.

Running (5-8 km in 30-40 mins)
Stair climbing with a backpack (20-30 mins)
Cycling or swimming (alternate days)
Skipping rope (3-5 mins per set)

Embark on your journey with a scenic 238 km drive from Kathgodam to Dau, a charming village situated at 2,000 meters. Upon arrival in the evening, check into a local homestay. After settling in, attend a briefing session with the trek leader to go over the expedition itinerary and safety guidelines.
Start your 7 km trek with a 2 km descent to the Pindar River, followed by a 5 km ascent through dense forests that will lead you to Jaitoli, the final inhabited village on this route. Enjoy an overnight stay in a homestay or tent, nestled in the tranquil beauty of the Himalayas.
Set off on a 12 km trek through vibrant forests and along riverbanks, where you'll be surrounded by stunning landscapes and diverse flora. Reach Kathaliya (3,250m) before sunset, where you'll set up camp and spend the night under the stars.
Hike 4 km uphill to the summit of Baluni Top, where you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Panwali Dwar and Maiktoli Peaks. From there, continue another 4 km to reach Base Camp (4,200m), your launch point for the final summit push.
Trek 3 km to Camp 1 (5,200m), an essential acclimatization point. The advance team will set up camp while the expedition leader provides final briefings and instructions for the summit push.
Begin early for an exciting summit push to Bhanoti Peak (5,645m). The ascent features steep snow slopes and technical terrain. Upon reaching the summit, take in the awe-inspiring panoramic views of Nanda Devi, Panwali Dwar, Maiktoli, and other majestic Himalayan peaks. After celebrating your achievement, descend to Advance Base Camp for a well-deserved rest.
Descend 10 km, passing by the sacred Devi Kund, a serene glacial lake tucked in the high mountains. The route involves careful navigation over moraines and scree. Arrive at Kathaliya and set up camp for the night.
Retrace your 12 km route back to Jaitoli, taking time to reflect on your accomplishments and appreciate the peaceful surroundings along the way.
Finish the final 7 km trek, descending 5 km to the Pindar River, then climbing 2 km to reach Dau. Celebrate the successful completion of your adventure with your team.
A buffer day is set aside for any weather delays or acclimatization adjustments. If all goes as planned, you can use this day to relax, explore the surroundings, or prepare for the return journey.
