The adventure officially begins with a brief 17 km drive from Munsiyari to the trek's starting point. After crossing the Gori Ganga River, you enter the breathtaking Ralam Valley. The 7 km trek to Panto takes you through picturesque landscapes, dense forests, and the calming sound of the river's flow. Nestled at 2,500 meters (8,202 feet), Panto serves as the first campsite of the trek, providing a serene and peaceful atmosphere to unwind for the night.

The trail from Panto to Lungriyani follows the Ralam Gaad (river), guiding you further into the valley. This 12 km stretch is moderately challenging, featuring gradual ascents and occasional river crossings. At an altitude of 3,200 meters (10,498 feet), Lungriyani is a peaceful haven surrounded by lush alpine meadows and towering peaks, making it the perfect spot to rest and acclimatize.

 

Today's 8 km trek takes you to Ralam Village, the last inhabited settlement on this route, located at 3,130 meters (10,269 feet). As you ascend, the landscape unfolds with stunning views of snow-capped mountains and expansive meadows. Ralam Village serves as a base for further glacier exploration, offering an opportunity to connect with the locals and gain insight into their unique lifestyle and culture.

This day is set aside for an exciting exploration of the awe-inspiring Ralam Glacier, located at 3,900 meters (12,795 feet). The 10 km round-trip trek includes some challenging climbs, but the breathtaking views are well worth the effort—featuring pristine glaciers, ice formations, and towering Himalayan peaks. After taking in the beauty, snapping some incredible photos, and enjoying the serene atmosphere, you'll return to Ralam Village for the night.

Today promises to be one of the most challenging yet rewarding days of the trek. The journey takes you across the Brijganga Dhura Pass (4,665 meters / 15,305 feet), a steep and demanding 10 km ascent. Reaching the pass rewards you with stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas, including majestic peaks such as Barphu Dhura, Kalaganga Dhura, and Bamba Dhura. After taking in the incredible vistas, you will descend to Bhujani Kharak (4,200 meters / 13,780 feet), a serene alpine meadow that serves as a perfect spot for camping.

The descent continues with an 8 km trek to Nahardevi (3,500 meters / 11,482 feet). As you make your way down, the trail unfolds through lush green valleys and fields adorned with vibrant wildflowers. Nahardevi offers a peaceful retreat, allowing you to relax and soak in the serene atmosphere of the Himalayas before tackling the final stretch of the trek.

The trek wraps up as you descend to the nearest road point, where a 3-4 hour drive will bring you back to Munsiyari. Once you arrive, you have the option to explore the town, visit the Nanda Devi Temple, or simply unwind and reflect on the rewarding journey you've just completed.

This extra day serves as a buffer for any weather delays or unforeseen circumstances during the trek. If not needed, you can take a short 6 km hike to Khaliya Top (3,500 meters / 11,482 feet), a well-known viewpoint near Munsiyari that offers breathtaking sunrise views of the Panchachuli, Rajrambha, and Nanda Devi peaks.
