About this tour
๐ Discover the Hidden Beauty of the Ranthan Kharak Trek
Tucked away in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, the Ranthan Kharak Trek is a lesser-known treasureโideal for adventurers seeking solitude, raw beauty, and a deeper connection with nature. Unlike many typical glacier treks, this route winds through untouched forests, vast meadows, and offers some of the Himalayas’ most dramatic mountain vistas. In addition, the trek provides a unique opportunity to experience landscapes that few have ventured to explore.
The journey begins in Gogina Village (2,200m) in the Bageshwar district and follows a scenic 40 km loop, which takes 6 days and 5 nights. By the end, youโll find yourself right back at the starting point, completing the full loop.
One of the trekโs most memorable sections lies between Thal Top (3,200m) and Ranthan Top (3,900m). From this high ridge, trekkers are rewarded with sweeping 360ยฐ views. On one hand, you can admire the sprawling grasslands of Khaliya Bugyal (3,500m) and the majestic Panchachuli Peaks (6,904m). On the other, the towering Nanda Kot (6,861m) and glistening Kafni Glacier (3,860m) dominate the skyline.
However, this trek isnโt just about reaching the summit. Rather, itโs about embracing the serenity of the quiet trails, the rustling forests, and the ever-changing colors of alpine meadows. Ultimately, itโs the experience of walking where few have trodden before.
Thus, if youโre looking for an offbeat Himalayan adventure that offers both tranquility and a sense of wild exploration, Ranthan Kharak is calling your name.
