The Sunderdhunga Trek, nestled in the Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand, is a hidden gem in the Kumaon Himalayas. Often regarded as one of the most scenic treks in the region, it is considered even more beautiful than its well-known counterparts, the Pindari and Kafni Glacier treks. The highest points of the trek, Nagkund (4,350 meters) and Devi Kund (4,200 meters), offer stunning panoramic views of towering peaks such as Maiktoli, Devtoli, Panwali Dwar, and Baljuri.

The trail leads you through remote villages like Jaitoli, dense forests, and rugged riverbanks, eventually unfolding into breathtaking meadows. While the journey is visually rewarding, it is also quite challenging. The path is rough and rocky, especially between Sirai and Kathaliya, making it unsuitable for beginners. Even seasoned trekkers should approach the terrain with caution. The trek begins and ends at Dau Village, located just 1 km before Khati, the last inhabited village on the route.
